Monthly Trophies

Starting in April and finishing in August, we have 5 monthly events:

The Masters
The Classic
The Open
Clayton Bowl
Jubilee Trophy


Weekend Trophy

In addition to the monthly events we also have a weekend trophy. This is 2 round trophy played over 2 days, i.e. a weekend !

Matchplay Trophy

Also know as The Summer Singles, this is a matchplay competition (at 3/4 handicap difference) played across the summer and hopefully completed before the end of our season in September.

The draw for the competition normally takes place after dinner at the first event of the season.

Triangle Match

The Triangle trophy is the competition played at the end of each season by ourselves, Old Minchendenians and Old Tollingtonians.

This is played in teams of twelve and our team is selected by a points qualification system for the top ten qualifiers, plus the captain plus the captains "wild card" choice.

The points are awarded for finishing position at each of the monthly events starting with 20 points for 1st, 19 for 2nd, 18 for 3rd etc. In the event of a tie for position, count back is NOT taken into account. ie Joint 1st gets 20 points each, 3rd gets 18 and so on.

The more you play, the more chance you have of getting up the table and into the team, so it also serves as a reward for consistent turn out as well as performance.
